French Bulldog Rescues
French Bulldog Rescues can barely cope with the inflow of abandoned and stray French Bulldogs, since so many dogs lose their homes for various reasons that it is often too much for a rescue organization to handle. In most cases, this is due to lack of responsibility and haste on people’s side when they take decisions to purchase puppies not realizing the whole load of responsibility for their dogs’ lives and their own.
French Bulldogs, like all other dogs, require specific attitude. There are handling and training requirements for each and every breed, and it is not always easy to pick out the right approach to this or that dog. Therefore, all responsible breeders are strict on their potential clients’ dog-owner’s qualities, and they do not sell their dogs to those who fail to live up to their requirements.
French Bulldogs are not easy to train. They have a stubborn and willful temperament, and it does manifest itself during training sessions anyway. Unfortunately, many people, especially novice Bulldog owners, regard this as lack of intelligence and hence they may take to incorrect methods of training, which impacts the dog’s behavior very badly. This may contribute to improper formation of the dog’s temperament, which is one reason why so many dogs end up in French Bulldog Rescues.
In general, French Bulldogs are very cute and communicative dogs. They are not intended for any service or sport, and are famous for their convivial temperament. French Bulldogs are excellent companions, and they love children. They tolerate many tricks from children, which they would under no circumstances tolerate from grown-ups. However, these dogs are not recommended for families with young children, and it is very important to teach kids to treat them in a right way. More often than not, failure to teach children to manage dogs results in Frenchies being surrendered to French Bulldog Rescue clubs.
French Bulldogs are small and sturdy dogs. They have muscular limbs, broad heads, deep chest and characteristic short muzzle. They are smooth-coated, their coat occurring in different types of brindle, fawn, white or different combinations of these colors. The standard does not accept black-and-tan species. French Bulldogs have large round eyes and characteristic rounded upright ears. French Bulldogs are meant for indoor life, and they do okay without a yard. They are no guard dogs, although they are very protective around their loved ones. However, there is a common misconception that these dogs are intended for guarding property, so many Bulldog owners see a vicious defender in this dog. Not infrequently, this cripples the minds of French Bulldogs and makes them unpredictable in behavior. French Bulldog Rescues continue to pick up stray and abandoned dogs, many of which have to be euthanized because of serious behavioral abnormalities.
